Meet The Hosts
Welcome to Soccer Is Stupid! With the World Cup returning to the United States in 2026, Robert Repino is going to hash out his complaints about the world’s most popular sport with his good friend, fellow Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, and longtime soccer journalist Charlie Boehm.

Charlie Boehm
Charles Boehm has covered all levels of soccer in North America and beyond for more than two decades, including his current role as MLSsoccer.com’s National Writer. This summer he’s covering his third FIFA men’s World Cup for MLSsoccer and Sounder at Heart, and is also a semi-regular contributor to the Scuffed podcast. A native Texan, he made Washington, D.C. his home following a pedestrian NCAA Division III college career and subsequent Peace Corps stint in the small, soccer-crazed island nation of Grenada, where he coached and played in the Grenadian Premier League and also met a charismatic guy from Philly named Rob Repino. Find him on Bluesky at @cboehm.bsky.social, or Instagram and Threads at @charlesboehm.
